Here is another flashback to 1988 and the pages of Raceway News. This week we are featuring images of Yamaha mounted Barry Carsten. Yes, you read that right, Yamaha. Barry rode a Blocker’s Yamaha in 1988 but made the switch to Suzuki in 1989. the rest, they say is history.
Another interesting thing you will notice is Barry’s helmet, goggle and gear sponsor. This was the beginning of Arai helmets and Scott goggles and his first time with Answer gear. The company that he now rides for after many, many years with MSR. (Side note, MSR and Answer were owned by Tucker so in effect they were the same company).
