Obituary from Spotswood Funeral Home – Richard Alan Brzostowski, Jr., 59, of West Creek (Eagleswood Township), passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center, Stafford Township.
Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Richard was raised in Bergen County and also lived in Jackson and Barnegat before settling in West Creek in 2021. For the past twenty-five years, Richard worked as a roofer and was also the vice president of Roofing Masters of Howell. He looked forward to spending time outdoors, kayaking, horseback riding, driving quads or riding his pride and joy, his Harley-Davidson. In his early years, he was a volunteer fire fighter for Hackensack Fire Dept. He also enjoyed cooking, spending time going to different motocross tracks, supporting his son every step of the way, especially Raceway Park, hanging out with his friends, playing the drums or bass guitar, telling jokes and sketching. He loved being a dad, to both his children and to their friends, and was the best at it. His home was always open to everyone. He was his kids pride and joy and they will miss him immensely.
Predeceased by his father, Richard Brzostowski, Sr., he is survived by his children, Lucas Brzostowski and his wife, Alyssa and Dakota Brzostowski; his mother and step father, Mariann and A. Anthony Pinto; his stepchildren, Nicholas Sodano and Krystal Alter; his brothers, Keith, Craig and Chris Brzostowski; his grandson, Carter Mason, his niece, Corynne Brzostowski, and; his ex-wife, Roseann Brzostowski. He was also predeceased by his dog, Nova.
Friends and family may visit and call on Friday, January 30th, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. A private cremation will follow.
