Dennis A Rike passed on peacefully at home on April 29, 2025 at age โOchenta y dosโ (82), with his beloved wife of 15 years Dinia Rike at his side. He was predeceased by his son Richard D Rike and first-spouse Elizabeth E Rike, with whom he raised their children.
Surviving are daughter Kimberly and husband Peter Young, daughter Melissa and husband Michael Malinconico, stepson Kenneth Hernandez. Grandchildren: Thomas & Matthew Young; Jack & Paige Malinconico.
Dennis leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Dinia Hernadez Rike, a PV business owner who shared with him his golden of years in Puerta Vallarta Mexico. Together they led an active life traveling and taking a leading role in the Jay Sadler Project which labored to improve institutions in the Banderas Bay area and Puerto Vallarta including Day Care Centers, Senior Citizens Homes and Schools for the Disabled, Public Schools in rural areas. Dennis also spent his retirement years involved with the PVMX Navy league, PVMX American Legion and Toys for Tots, making many cherished friendships.
Dennis was a native-patriot son, entrepreneur and developer in the U.S., and steadfast friend to his beloved Puerta Vallarta. His prime years were the source of great stories of friendship and accomplishment in service to Matawan NJ. He was an active member of the Jaycees and was a pioneer founder of a recycling program in Matawan back in 1972 , which continues today. Dennis served as a Fire Chief and Commissioner for and remained a Life Member of Washington Engine Co. No.1., in Matawan, New Jersey, where his grandson Thomas carries on the tradition. Additionally, Dennis served as a Councilman, and past Commissioner of the Matawan Borough Fire Department.
An avid rider for life, first while living on the outskirts of Death Valley with his childhood horse โRust-Starโ; through his vital years as an ever-present figure holding court at Raceway Park and on the Motocross circuit, onto his Harley for countless miles across the U.S., Mexico and beyond.
At your next meeting with friends, please lift a glass of Tequila to Dennis Armond Rike. He had industry and charity in his heart and motor oil in his veins. ยกSalud!
