Next weekend, June 14th, the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship heads to one of its most iconic venues—High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. Nestled right on the West Virginia border, High Point has long been a favorite for East Coast fans, offering an old-school motocross experience with rolling hills, off-camber corners, and deep-rooted history. If you’re a New Jersey moto fan, this is the national you don’t want to miss.
A Quick Look Back
Over the years, NJMotocross.com has documented numerous trips to High Point, from the muddy mess of 2013 to the sunny, high-energy crowds in 2018 and 2022. One thing is always true—this event delivers. It’s a blend of high-caliber racing and grassroots charm, and it’s sort of a “local” National for Jersey fans.

Jersey Pride at High Point
Many riders from the Garden State have made their mark at High Point over the years. Some of the previous racers in recent memory include:Cory Carsten, Bryton Carroll, Anthony Roth, James Henshaw, Ricci and Travis Randanella, Dakota Kessler, Ian Kearon, Brandon Hartranft, Jake Impens, Luke Renzland and Nick Peccarelli.
Looking ahead to 2025, we expect to see entries from New Jersey-area privateers and local up-and-comers looking to gain national exposure. We hope to have the pre-entry list later next week. Keep an eye out for entries from familiar names in the Northeast racing scene.
Skip the Pike, Take the Scenic Route
While many GPS apps will send you across the Pennsylvania Turnpike, savvy fans know there’s a better—and often more enjoyable—route:
Head south into West Virginia via I-68 and make your way through Morgantown. Not only will you avoid the steep tolls and traffic of the Turnpike, but you’ll also cruise through scenic mountain roads with less stress and more charm.
Make Morgantown Your Home Base
Staying in Morgantown is a great option, especially if you’re traveling with family or planning a weekend around the race. It’s only about 15 minutes from the track and offers a solid range of hotels, restaurants, and nightlife.
Here are a few top spots to hit up:
- Iron Horse Tavern – Great local food and craft beer.
- Black Bear Burritos – A local favorite for unique, flavorful eats.
- Mountain State Brewing Co. – Perfect for post-race relaxation with pizza and pints. My personal favorite.
Spectator Tips & Tricks
- Arrive Early – Parking can back up quickly, especially if it rained earlier in the week.
- Stay Hydrated – The hills are no joke, and there’s limited shade.
- Wear Proper Shoes – Whether it’s muddy or dry, you’ll be walking a lot.
- Pick a Spot on the Fence Early – If you want primo views, get there before the first motos and claim your space.
- Scan the Pits – Don’t miss the opportunity to meet riders, grab autographs, and see the bikes up close during open pit times.
Final Thoughts
High Point isn’t just a race—it’s a destination. From the elevated views to the family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to New Jersey, it’s one of the best ways to experience outdoor motocross. Whether you’re a first-time fan or a seasoned High Point veteran, the 2025 edition is shaping up to be another unforgettable stop in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
We hope to see plenty of NJ faces at the fence line next weekend. Be sure to tag us in your photos and share your experience using #NJMotocross and #HighPointNational. Let’s show the moto world how Jersey supports its riders!
