UNADILLA – 2019 marked the 50th anniversary of racing at this famed upstate New York track. Unadilla is the hallowed ground of motocross and has hosted national and international events including an epic Motocross Des Nations event in 1987. A short 3-5 hour ride from anywhere in New Jersey, this round is well attended by local racers and fans.
Big congratulations go out to Ricci Randanella for making the big show in the 450 class. He qualified into the main event with a 3rd place in the LCQ. Another racer making the main event was Cory Carsten. Cory was 6th in the LCQ and was the second alternate for the motos. He got in to the second moto where he finished 35th.
Cory and his dad Barry are now the fourth father-son duo from New Jersey to compete at the national level. The other 3 father-son duos are Mickey and Dakota Kessler and Bruce and Joel Dengler and Brian and Bryton Carroll. While we are talking about Bryton. He suffered a broken leg in Saturday’s racing action and underwent surgery to take care of the break. I’m sure he’ll be back out there in no time. Get well soon Bryton.
