The Road to Loretta’s Goes Through New Jersey
Englishtown, NJ, May 25, 2017- Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey will host the Northeast Youth Regional Qualifier for the 2017 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by Lucas Oil next weekend June 3-4, 2017.
The event serves as the final step for Northeast youth racers as they attempt to qualify for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships that take place at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee in August.
The qualification process begins with an area qualifier, then the regional and finally the big show at Loretta Lynn’s. In the Northeast Youth Regional held at Raceway Park, the top 6 overall in each class* will get the invitation to the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship (*some exceptions apply, visit mxsports.com for more information).
The iconic Raceway Park facility in central New Jersey has hosted a wide variety of activities on the premises. The facility contains both a ⅛ and ¼ mile drag strip, multiple motocross tracks, and a road course popular with the drifting community. Since the early 1970’s, motocross has been a staple at Raceway Park. Over the years, virtually all of the elite riders in the sport have turned a wheel on the Raceway Park track.
The 2017 season marks the 42nd year that the facility has hosted motocross racing events. Following next weekend’s Regional Qualifier, Raceway Park will host eight additional racing events and four more Youth MX and ATV series events. Included in the 8 season races are several unique events including the NJ State Championship in August and the 41st annual Kawasaki Race of Champions at the end of September.
