Kessler Wraps Up Championship Titles

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ – The final round of the Trapani Pit Bike Series, held at Raceway Park, was held on the Friday night of the Race of Champions weekend instead of its usual Saturday night. Instead of the rains that have plagued the series all season, a typical fall evening welcomed the riders in attendance.

Many series championships were decided on the final night of racing, including the closest of them all, the Over 16 Modified class. The championship would go down to the final moto of the series, with the moto winner taking home the championship glory. Dakota Kessler (49) battled Barry Goodwin all series long, and after the final moto of the season, the two were tied on points. The championship went to Kessler by virtue of total moto victories for the season.

Kessler kept his near-perfect score in place in the 50cc Open (Over 16) class. He lost only one overall all season on his way to a 54-point lead in the championship standings, over Joshua Sheffer and Jeff Roma.

The youngest class of riders was the 50cc Stock (7-11) class, in which Mitchell Reed held on to the championship, over Eric Plackis and Joe Deangelo.

During intermission, Trapani Racing and Xtreme Pit Bikes gave away three brand-new pit bikes. The lucky winners were drawn at random from the riders entered in the Dash For Cash motos this season, in both the Over 16 and 7-15 classes. One lucky spectator even took home a new bike as well.

Despite the constant rains this year, the second annual series was quite a success. Get your bike ready this winter for an even better series next year. Keep an eye on the website at www.racewaypark.com for a complete schedule.
