Seip Tops Vet Experts

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ – Longtime Raceway Park competitor Jerry Seip (343) used consistent 2-1 finishes to take the overall victory in the Over 40 Expert class. The KPS/Cooper’s Honda-sponsored Seip is still a contender to win, no matter which class he enters.

As the Over 40 Experts jumped off the gate for their first moto, Honda-mounted Al Collouid grabbed the early lead, followed by Mark Loniewski, Bob Eichlin and the rest of the field. Coming into the middle of the track, Eichlin took over the lead, followed by Seip and Montgomeryville Cycle Center-sponsored Marc Tiesler.

Eichlin began to stretch out his lead as the field strung out behind him. Seip kept Eichlin in sight but could not close on the CRF450 rider. Eichlin went on to win the moto, followed by Seip in second. Tiesler held off Mount Holly Suzuki rider Larry Harper for third.

In the second moto, Eichlin grabbed the holeshot, followed by Seip, Tiesler and Harper. The first to fall off the pace was Harper, as he went down in the back of the track and had to remount and work his way back through the field. At the bottom of the Staircase, Seip made his move past Eichlin and began to run away. Seip would go on unchallenged for the rest of the moto to take the victory, followed by Eichlin and Tiesler. Harper would eventually work his way through the pack to finish fourth.

Seip (2-1) took the overall, followed by Eichlin (1-2) in second and Tiesler (3-3) in third.

Ronnie Stewart gave his new sponsor something to cheer about by grabbing the overall in both the 125cc Expert and 250cc Expert classes. Stewart changed sponsors midseason and came out swinging aboard the Stroud Motorsports Suzuki. Following Stewart in the 125cc class were Michael Gesso (3-2) and Motoxsupport-sponsored Jimmy McIlvaine (4-3). In the 250cc class, it was Onorino Fascelli (2-3) in second and Taylor Murphy (3-5) in third.
